Raleigh SCX3 - Results and Standings
With back to back wins for both Kerry McPhee and Harry Johnston this weekend at Strathclyde Park, there’s no change at the top of the Raleigh SCX Series standings for the Seniors. Full results and lap times courtesy of Mark Young are up on Mylaps at the links below, and the Series Standings after each Series race are also now available for download.
Race Report: SCX 4 - Fife College
The first mud of the season and what mud it was. Paul Davies and his Dunfermline CC helpers contrived a race course that made the best of the campus venue which majored heavily in glaur. With nearly half the course requiring the dubstep, this race required strength and skills just to finish and many riders took a fair amount of Fife home with them on heavily caked bikes and clothing. Fairly brisk business in the pits emphasised the toll that the course was taking on the bikes with many of the top riders swapping for cleaner and lighter bikes or running in with punctures or broken mechs. Despite, or even because of the conditions, most riders gloried in the sheer absurdity of racing through such a heavy course and were full of smiles and compliments for the organisers.
Results and Standings after Raleigh SCX5 - Irvine
Freezing conditions and well-received tweaks to the course led to some fantastic racing at Raleigh SCX5 - Irvine at the weekend. Wins in the Senior races for Isla Short and Harry Johnston means Kerry McPhee now trails Jane Barr the top of the Women’s Series, while Harry Johnston sits 30 points clear of Gary MacDonald with 2 races remaining. The weekend was also notable for the return to the podium for former National Champions Craig Hardy (V40) and Rab Wardell (Seniors).
