HUPcc and Scottish Cyclocross extend partnership

After an extremely successful inaugural season, HUPcc and Scottish Cycling have extended a partnership aimed at boosting cyclocross across Scotland.

Building on a mutually beneficial relationship, formed ahead of the 2024/25 cyclocross season, HUPcc will continue their status as Official Cyclocross Partner to Scottish Cycling, and headline sponsor of the Scottish Cyclocross Series.

Bucking the downward trend of sports participation across society, last year saw entry numbers rise for the Scottish Cyclocross Series – this is largely attributed to additional media support HUPcc provided, shining a spotlight on the series and building the narrative of the season as hold.

Engaging video content was the centrepiece, but a Spirit of Cross initiative, with HUPcc frames given away, also added to the excitement. These features will return in 2025/26, with the Spirit of Cross initiative being modified to recognise the volunteers who make cycle sport happen.

The Peebles based brand started out making children’s specific bikes 10 years ago, building out their range, which now includes high quality components and frames for adult males and females, all at affordable prices. Testament to this ethos, HUPcc riders rode to second and third in the Senior Open and Female races at the Scottish Cyclocross Championships in 2024.

On extending the partnership, HUPcc owner Linette MacArthur said:

“The SCX was amazing last season, with Scottish Cycling, the SCX Committee, event organisers and volunteers, riders and helpers all coming together for a fantastic mud-fest. It will be our pleasure to do it all again, as Cross is Boss! I look forward to watching the highlight films back after each race weekend too – ideally somewhere warm and dry!”

Scottish Cyclocross Association Chair, Howard Perkins, added:

“We’re delighted that HUPcc are supporting the Series once again this winter; last year their support really helped us elevate our offer, and it’s a really positive sign for cyclocross as a whole that we have sponsors interested and willing to support us.”

Nick Rennie, Chief Executive of Scottish Cycling said:

“Over the last 12 months HUPcc have been a great partner, elevating our cyclocross scene, but also supporting our conference and awards, and performance programme. Their ethos aligns perfectly to what we’re trying to achieve as the governing body for the sport of cycling. Thank you for your continued support.”
